With our unique Oceanview Ballroom that you will not find anywhere else in the Wilmington area, and the flexbibility of our Soundview Ballroom, we have the options to host your reception or event and cater directly to your needs!
Oceanview Ballroom
Walk right inside from your beachfront ceremony to your reception without losing the spectacular oceanfront views!
The Oceanview Ballroom is our 3000 square foot ballroom that has floor to ceiling windows that overlook the ocean. This ballroom space also includes a 1000 square foot outdoor Oceanview Porch, which is private for all events that take place in this particular ballroom. For all events, the room rental price includes up to 4 hours of event time (does not include set up and break down of the event). This ballroom is most commonly used for any social event.

o Seats up to 120 guests (with dancefloor, buffet and bar in Oceanview Ballroom)
o Seats up to 140 guests (with no dancefloor, but with buffet and bar in Oceanview Ballroom)
o Seats up to 160 guests (with buffet and bar in Soundview Ballroom, if available, but with dancefloor in Oceanview Ballroom)
o Seats up to 200 guests (with only tables and chairs in the Oceanview Ballroom. Buffet, Bar and Dancefloor would have to be in Soundview Ballroom)

o Seats up to 140 guests (with dancefloor and bar in Oceanview Ballroom)
o Seats up to 160 guests (with dancefloor in Oceanview Ballroom, bar in hallway or across the hall in Soundview Ballroom)
o Seats up to 200 guests (with only tables and chairs in the Oceanview Ballroom. Dancefloor and bar would have to be in Soundview Ballroom)

Cocktail Style Reception
o Up to 200 guests (with dancefloor and limited seating utilizing majority cocktail tables around the room). If seats wanted for everyone, this number capacity would change.

The Soundview Ballroom is our 3000 square foot ballroom, that is made up of three 1000 square foot ballroom spaces (Palm View Ballroom, Sunset Ballroom and Waterway Ballroom). With the air walls contained in this ballroom, we can transform this space to fit your headcount perfectly. This ballroom is perfect for corporate events (big or small) due to the flexibility the room has for different types of room set ups it can fit. This ballroom has three pocket windows that face our picturesque marsh and Intercostal Waterway. If you are needing the space to be darkened due to Audio Visual presentation? This ballroom is equipped with black out windows as well just in case that is a feature your group needs. Shell Island Resort has not only hosted corporate events in this ballroom, but also weddings, rehearsal dinners, baby showers, and more!
